Weedbusters' "Get Dirty" Weekend
Every year Weedbusters runs a ‘Have a Dirty Weekend in Your Own Backyard’ promotion to encourage New Zealanders to get into their gardens. There is no external event, rather people are encouraged to be weeding in their own gardens, not elsewhere.
This promotion is based around an internet competition inviting folk to tell Weedbusters what they have done to keep their place a weedfree space. The resulting entries can provide good stories for press releases of Kiwis doing their bit to stop the spread of weeds.
