Conservation Week 2012 “Love your Parks”

Posted 5 years ago    0 comments

Running from 9 to 16 of September, Conservation Week 2012 marks two important anniversaries: the 60th anniversary of the National Parks Act and the 125th anniversary of Te Heuheu Tukino IV gifting the Tongaririo, Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe mountain peaks to the people of New Zealand

Conservation Week is run by the Department of Conservation with events and activities organised by a range of groups, business, councils and agencies.

To find out about events in your area go to the Conservation Week website. At present there is not a lot happening in the Waikato so groups  get busy and run an event during Conservation Week.

On the website there are many activity ideas for teachers and parents to do with children, including videos, games, stories and craft ideas.
You can also upload photos on the website using Flickr to show why you ‘love New Zealand’.
Show you love New Zealand this year by getting involved in Conservation Week.
