FREE Interactive Map for Environmental Groups in Waikato

Posted 13 years, 10 months ago    3 comments

What is it?

This map has been developed just for environmental community groups, and it is free! It shows the location of groups in the Waikato region, and the work they do.

How does it work?

The user clicks on an icon, indicating what work the group is involved in, for example; ‘Restoration- Pest control’. The icon opens to a map showing the locations of groups involved in that work.

Clicking on an individual icon shows a box which includes the group’s contacts, and ‘needs’. Links can also connect to your group’s website and feature news & events as well as link back to the ECH site, where groups will have their information displayed.

If you would like a page, and to be linked up, let us know. All you have to do is send us your info, logo and objectives and we will load you in.

Benefits:

1. It’s free!

2. Includes: your groups name, contact, logo, and your group needs

3. Links with other groups doing similar work

4. Links to ECH where further information can be available

5. Businesses who wish to support environmental groups with volunteer time, or sponsorship, can access the site to gain an understanding of what groups do and what their needs are.

Suggest adding Miranda Shorebird Centre to Environmental Education. Over 20 schools and many other groups receive instruction each year. Miranda Naturalist's trust can be contqacted about shorebirds throughout NZ.

Te Kauri-Waikuku Trust should have reference to Hamilton Junior Naturalist Club.

NZ National Wetland trust does not have a physical location yet, but will be building at Serpentine. We have a website and receive many enquiries.
